Work Parties are held weekly at Langley Mill, NG16 4AA. New members/supporters are always welcome. Dropping in unexpectedly does not always work as we need to agree a time to meet you to enable Roland, our Work Party Organiser an opportunity to carry out a short induction. You can contact us on 0115 837 0700 or email chairman@ecpda.org.uk to make an appointment to meet Roland or a trustee for a chat and induction.

The tasks are varied and entail any of the following; rubbish bin emptying, painting, cutting grass, creosoting fences, working along the Erewash Canal carrying out planned lock maintenance, offside vegetation works in the winter months, workshop repairing machinery. Mechanical or woodworking skills are always useful for the workshops.

Training is provided for many tasks and some tasks cannot be undertaken until certificated training has taken place such as; first aid, using a chainsaw or pole saw, woodchipper, helming the workboat.

It's not all about getting your boots dirty, there is plenty of admin work attached to the volunteers' work as well.
